Air Wick’s “Nose Worlds” wasn’t just about selling fragrance. It was about inviting people into surreal, scent-filled adventures. We can smell a fun idea from miles away, and this one had imagination written all over it.

Creatively conceived by Havas London and produced by Shutterstock Studios, our team at Ink & Giants stepped in to give those worlds their pulse, their playfulness, and their personality. From fantastical dreamscapes to live-action VFX, we helped shape a campaign alive with imagination.

Your Nose Knows.
Translating Fragrance Into Form

The question we asked ourselves was simple: If your nose could dream, what would it look like? From that spark, we designed fantastical landscapes, each rooted in the essence of a fragrance.

The Pulse

The Liquid Electrical Pulse releases bursts of fragrance, so we built a world that pulses with it. This mechanism became the heartbeat of the story, shaping golden mist through real-world scenes and setting the pace of the landscape it powered in Nose World.

Grim to grin

Active Fresh challenged us to visualise odour. We leaned in.

Mouldy fruit, rubbish piles, ants on a mission. A grim little world full of nasal nightmares. Then, we flipped it into a fragrant dreamscape. From stink to sanctuary with Active Fresh.

Calmness

Essential Mist called for softness and stillness.

We created a floating floral haven with golden light, soft petals and a CG nose adrift on a giant peony. Everything slowed. A weightless pause. A place to breathe. Namaste.

Crafting the Details

Every detail, from light to rhythm to texture, made the fragrance alive. Even the noses themselves were sculpted from real actor scans, balancing realism with just enough surreal charm to belong in these imagined worlds.

To bridge fantasy and reality, we also crafted the live-action effects: golden fragrance mist, particle simulations, and seamless transitions between the real and the surreal. Every element was crafted to feel polished and purposeful, so the worlds and the real scenes belonged together.

Scaling Imagination

This project was more than animation. It was a high-wire act of creativity and coordination.

We delivered two national campaigns (UK & Germany) in parallel, balancing evolving needs, multiple deliverables, complex elements, and brand assets, all under a relentless timeline. The challenge was clear: scale imagination without breaking it, while shaping the vision, safeguarding the craft, and keeping every moving part in sync.

For Air Wick, it was a bold step into new creative territory: playful, imaginative, and a true breath of fresh air.

We’ve loved crafting this campaign, imagining what surprising (and nightmarish) things our noses get up to when we’re not looking. It’s been a production adventure, combining virtual production and a brilliant collaboration with Ink and Giants to bring these Nose Worlds to life.

– Kate Pozzi, Creative Director, Havas London

In producing the latest iteration of our ‘Breath of Fresh Air Wick’ campaign, we needed to create a variety of fantasy ‘Nose Worlds’. These worlds lived in the imagination of our characters’ noses. In that respect, they needed to be either delightfully, fragrant dreamscapes or malignant, malodorous nightmares.

Ink & Giants delivered these differing nose-scapes with aplomb. Creating a range of landscapes that showcased the new Air Wick fragrances. They had to feel grounded in real floral cues, but also deliver a magical, mood-evoking environment that any nose would want to be a part of. On the flipside they also created a malodorous, miasma-filled, smelly rubbish strewn environment that would give any nose a nightmare.

We also had to ensure that our noses in ‘nose world’ matched our characters’ noses in the real world. Which they did seamlessly.

These noses and worlds were brilliantly crafted and delivered.
